TPS560200-Q1: Device Burning up

Part Number: TPS560200-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS560200

Hi, I have attached my schematic for your reference.

I was recently trying to scope a PCB and accidentally shorted two pins on connector "P11". This caused the device TPS560200-Q1 to create a small spark and burn out.

P11 had a 12V fan connected to it at the time, therefore I shorted 12V with GND.

I would have thought by shorting 12V to GND, would simply stop the device from regulating as no current would be passed through it, even though current would be flowing from 12V to GND.

Is this what is expected if 12V is shorted to GND, a device would burn out? Or is this caused by something else?

Thank You
