TPS65921: SWR=Special Work Request (Engineering Material)

Hello,

We purchased some parts from franchise and we noticed that label had Special Work Request instead of a full turnkey processing.

We just wanted to know if this is normal for this part number and would there be any impact on form, fit , or function.

Hi Dorian,

There are many reasons an SWR can be assigned to a batch of devices, many of these things should not have any impact on device behavior, performance, or characteristics. Were these units purchased from TI or a third party?

Layne,

Parts were purchased thru Digi-Key.

We just want to make sure that this is not a red flag during production or functionality.

Hi Dorian,

These units have the SWR label because they were a part of one of the first production runs after there was a packaging change to the units. There should be no changes to functionality or device behavior/reliability.

Layne,

Would TI provide a CoC for these parts if I supply the purchasing documentation for these parts?

Or would this be something that I would have to request thru my authorized distributor?

Unfortunately this is not something I can help with. I would recommend reaching out to Digi-Key as the units were purchased from them and going through that process.
