TPS53513: Connect EN and VREG

Hi All,

I have a question about TPS53513.

The EN terminal and VREG terminal are connected at customer schematic.
In this case, VREG and EN will start up at the same time in a sequence different from the Power-up Sequence shown in Fig.33.
Does this work correctly? Should it not connect EN and VREG?

VREG powers up with the VDD input voltage. The enable pin does not control the turn on of the VREG.

The OVP and UVP can latch off the device. The en pin or VDD be cycled low to high to restart the device. Otherwise, the VDD needs to cycle low to high to restart after a latchoff.

I think It dose not work properly when the VREG terminal is connected to the EN terminal.
Is my understanding correct?

I think VREG and EN are started almost at the same time.

The VREG power up independent of the EN pin status.

EN is not controlled internally by VREG or VDD, EN needs to be pulled high externally for the device to regulate.

The consequence of hard wiring the EN to VREG to recover from latch off (OVP, UVP) is the VDD must power down and up.
