Hi,

Can BQ25720 start charging without intervention from the processor over I2C?

e.g. in a similar way to how BQ25672 can complete a charging cycle without host involvement.

No, The BQ25720 cannot start charging without processor intervention. The charge current register defaults to 0 A at POR.
