UCC21222-Q1: Belt Start Generator IGD Options

Part Number: UCC21222-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21540-Q1, , UCC21520-Q1, UCC20225-Q1

Hey Team,

I have a customer that is deciding between the UCC21222-Q1, UCC21520-Q1, and UCC21540-Q1 for a Belt Start Generator (BSG) automotive application.

Do we have any intuition as to which device might be better for this application?

Also, I see an article from 2019, here, suggesting the UCC20225-Q1 and am wondering if the main difference is isolation rating.

Best,
Dajon McGill

  • Hi Dajon,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The differences between these devices are the packages, isolation specs and recommended operating conditions.

For the recommendation it is important to understand the requirements for their systems such as voltage operating conditions and isolation requirements.

The creepage and clearance is a requirements we have to ensure meets the customers standards.

I hope this helps to clarify your questions

    Sincerely,

    Francisco Lauzurique
