CSD86360Q5D: Problems with PSpice model

Part Number: CSD86360Q5D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53819, TPS53819A, CSD86350Q5D

Hallo,

We are using the CSD86360Q5D in our DCDC converters together with the TPS5381A.

I have already successfully simulated the circuit with TinaTI, but now I wanted the a Simulate the whole with PSpice, because there are better applications here. Unfortunately, a simulation is not possible with the exact same circuit diagram. The result does not correspond to the actual processes.

There is an example circuit for the TPS53819 which is working as expected so I suspect that this is not the problem.

So would it be possible to check the model for the CSD86360Q5D?

Thanks!

  • Hello Sophie,

Thanks for your interest in TI FETs. I was able to get the TPS53819A PSpice Transient Model (SLUM349A.ZIP (40 KB) - PSpice Model in the TPS53819A product folder) to work with the CSD86360Q5D PSpice model (SLUM349A.ZIP (40 KB) - PSpice Model in the CSD86360Q5D product folder). The attached zip file contains the simulation with the TPS53819A + CSD86360Q5D. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Best Regards,

    John Wallace

  • Dear John,

    Thanks for the fast response!

Unfortunately I get the following error with your simulation:

ERROR(ORPSIM-16276): Simulation cannot be completed because library C:/Users/a0274248/TI Drive/FET/Models/Unencrypted_Models/PowerBlock/CSD86360Q5D.lib
    is not available.

I can't even find the CSD86360Q5D.lib file in your zip folder.

The other things is: when I download the PSPice model for the CSD86360Q5D it is called SLPM165A.ZIP (5 KB) - PSpice Model not SLUM349A.ZIP (40 KB) - PSpice Model as you said.

    Best Sophie

  • HI Sophie,

You're correct, the file with the CSD86350Q5D model and symbol is named SLPM165A.ZIP (5 KB) - PSpice Model. I've attached it for your convenience. If you're using PSpice for TI, the symbol and model are already included in the library. If you're using a commercial version of PSpice, then you need to save the .lib file and edit the simulation profile (under the PSpice menu) and add it to the design. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hi John,

Thanks a lot now your simulation is working for me as well.

But that makes my problem all the more strange :D. I will now search for clues with the help of your simulation, I hope I will find the issue.

Thanks for the support so far!

    Best Sophie
