Hello E2E forums,

For the Bq25886 EVM CE/OTG D+ and D- pins. If we wanted the charger to accept that maximum input current once a 5V supply is powered in would we have to do the following:

Have the CE and OTG pins pulled low.

Have the D+ and D- pins tied together and floating?

Hi Brendan,

Short D+=D- to convince the charger that a 3.0A DCP charger is attached. The ILIM pin resistor clamps the input current lower unless you also size it for 3.0A. With /CE low, forward/charge mode is enabled at power up. with OTG low, the charger will never enter reverse/OTG mode.

Hello Jeff,

So if we want it to charge during start up we want OTG turned off? (That is, OTG pulled low)

enabling OTG turns on a buck mode and disables charging?
