UCD9090: UCD9090 Design Questions

Part Number: UCD9090

Hi,

I have some general design questions about this part. When attempting to chain multiple devices together by connecting one GPIO output to a second devices Monitor Input. Is there a voltage that needs to be set for "Vout" under the Rail Configuration tab for the Monitor pin that that the GPIO is connected to? Also, if a monitor pin is being used for temperature readings with an external temperature IC. What would be the Temp Cal Gain: in (Celsius/Volt). IF the output of the temperature sensor is defined as Vptat=4mV/Kelvin. The specific temperature sensor IC being used is LTC2997. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

  • Hi

Typically, the GPIO output is up to 3.3V for HIGH. while the ADC reference is up to 2.5V.  if you have external voltage divider for the GPIO, the VOUT is set to 3.3V and scaling ratio is equal to your divider ratio. If you do not have voltage divider, the VOUT shall be 2.5V.

The temp CAL gain shall be from your temperature IC. it shall be some like T(Celsius)= Ratio* Voltage + offset.

if it is Kelvin, you have to convert to Celsius.
