BQ25619E: What is the Maximum output current it can provide?

Part Number: BQ25619E

Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with BQ25619E. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

In the BQ25619E datasheet it is mentioned Isw = 1.8A , Why it is limited to this much current as input is 3.2A and Battery RMS discharge is 5A. So where it will get discharged if it is limited to 1.8A

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Ray,

BQ25619E is a 1.5-A charger. It can handle up to 1.5A total current, i.e. the sum of the charging current and the system current. If there's no battery, the maximum system current can be 1.5A. So the recommended maximum Isw is 1.8A. Please note the actual load current may also be limited by the input power.

The maximum battery charging current setting is 1.5A while the maximum battery discharge current is 5A. The two currents have different directions.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
