BQ76PL455A-Q1: specific BQ76PL455A-Q1 outputs data with a voltage of 0V for all cells

Hi Team,

My customer designed their board that three BQ76PL455A-Q1s are mounted in a daisy chain network.
They found specific BQ76PL455A-Q1 outputs data with a voltage of 0V for all cells very rarely (frequency is once a day).

They made eight boards and one of which shows the phenomenon and they cannot swap the device for debugging because there is a moisture-proof coating on the board so what they can do is limited.

Do you think the problem is occurring on the daisy chain communication line?
May I have your advice if possible?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi K.

Is it really on 1 unit? It is probably best to return the unit if they cannot swap it out. There was an issue like this on a few bq76pl455a shipments a couple months back only showing on a few of them that this could likely be.

    Regards.
