BQ24703: Oscillation of PWM signal.

Part Number: BQ24703
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27532-Q1

Hello

I want to insert a resistor into R80 to reduce the oscillation of the PWM signal.

How range can the R80 resistor value?

Is there any other way to reduce the oscillation of PWM?

Green : VCC

Red : PWM Signal

  • Hi,

PWM signal is the gate drive signal to the high side PFET. Adding a resistor in series will damp the overshoot by slowing down the turn on. You can use a value of 4.7ohm or 10ohm to test whether the overshoot is damped enough. Keep in mind that you may also want to revisit your layout. Make sure you dont have the trace routed over high frequency noise traces/pours. it is ideal to have a short clean connection on the same layer as the PFET as opposed to long traces through vias.
