Hello,

It seems like you have connected VBATP to ground and VBAT_SAFING to a 5V supply. These two pins should be connected a single source that is greater than 5.8V as they are the supply pins for the device. This can be seen on the "Typical Application Diagram" on page 3 of the datasheet.

Hello,

The next thing I would recommend is adding additional capacitance to the VBATP net as this input supply should have a sufficient amount of input capacitance to ensure proper function. In Figure 6-1 of the datasheet you can see a typical schematic for this design, which includes a 10uF capacitor on the VBATP net.

I would recommend reviewing Figure 6-1 in the datasheet as well as the TPS65381A-Q1 Design Checklist to ensure the design is matching the requirements of the device.

Hello,

Layne is OoO this week, returning Monday, however I can confirm that we do not have another version of this part which supports powering up with 5V. This device is intended to work with a 12V car battery.
