Hi Team,

My customer using TPS2321 + CDS17505 for 12V/8A OCP Hot-Swap, schematic show below.

From CSD17505Q5A datasheet SOA curve, the Ids for DC value is less than 10A.

Customer has concern use CSD17505 in this application, can team help to confirm? thanks.

Thanks for the interest in our devices.

This part may be ok in the application but depends on the pulse duration, if 1ms or less then you should be fine with 12V/8A SOA type operation.

3 Tools were recently released that you can use to select the right mosfet for the application. You could try one of these tools and replicate your conditions, maybe the LM5069 tool below:-
