TPS51285B: TPS51285B power with higher voltage

Hi Expert,

I am reaching out to you for TPS51285B working with >30V input. If customer power VIN pin with <20V input( after LDO, convering source to 20V ), does TPS51285B can work with external input > 30V.

From my judgement, it can not work, because TPS51285 bootstrap circuit will be broken down. I would like to confirm with you for this points!

Hi Jimmy,

Yes your understanding is correct. During operation of a buck converter, the SW node will have a pulse voltage between Vin and 0. The SW inner circuit also can't support the high voltage stress.
