TPS61322: TPS613221ADBVR pin to pin device replacement

Part Number: TPS61322
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61072, TPS61090, TPS61029

Hi Team,

Good day.

Customer is looking for possible alternative for the currently out of stock TPS613221ADBV (3.3V output version).

Customer's requirements:

3.3V output, internal switch, similar or same schematic (pinout). SOT23 package would be preferred, but not necessary as long as the package type is hand-solderable (Not BGA).

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

Could you please specify what is customer's input, output voltage and output current? There are 12 devices meeting your requirements, but you need specific more about specs so that i can give your the most proper one.

  • Hi Wenhao,

i was the originator of the request. I found all this devices as well, but problem is, you need to open each product page to check if the part is available (on stock). So i thought, a request to customer support would provide a quicker answer, which isn't obviously the case.

The product is a TV remote with high power IR LED (100mA). So with MCU and all that stuff i qould assume <200mA. It's powered by two AAA cells so input voltage i would say 2..3V, output is 3.3V (fixed).

this is the current schematic with TPS613221ADBV, to bring the prototypes alive it would be neat if there would be a solution which uses same inductances/capacitances.. but i doubt Stuck out tongue winking eye

    Thanks in advance

    David

  • Hi David,

Thanks for sharing the operating condition. I found various devices which meet your requirement. But I need to check internally if there is any stock available. What is the required volume per year?

    -Wenhao

  • As said... this is for prototype boards.. so 2-5 parts.

When the project is going into production i would assume 1k-2k per anno

  • Hi David,

There are several devices which can meet your requirements and have stock in ti.com currently.

    1.TPS61072 can meet your requirements. However it does not support PSM in light load so the device will assume more load than TPS612331 in light load. Disable the device by turning off EN can help increase efficiency manually;

2.TPS61090, TPS61029 can also be used here, but their packages are larger than TPS613221.
