TPS62864: Vout programed via I2C from first startup

Part Number: TPS62864

Hello,

My customer is considering TPS62864.
They would like to have Vout programed via I2C from first startup.
But according to datasheet, no I2C access is allowed before EN gets high.

Does TI have TPS62864 device option with Control Register bit5 default is 0?
Or are there any ways to achieve what they want?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hi Hirano-san,

You can change the start-up voltage through the Vset pin.  A different resistor value can pick a different startup voltage.  Usually the processor has a single startup voltage and then the I2C takes over and adjusts the voltage during operation to optimize the performance.  Do you have something different?

No, we do not have a device which stays off until the I2C turns it on.

Can you contact me by email with the customer, application, output current, output voltage, and the details of what voltage you need at startup?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Chris,

    Thank you for your responses.

I will recommend my customer to use the pin strap to get most close Vout value.
I will contact via an email, if they still have problems.

    Best regards,
