TPS51206: Pin FMEA document for TPS51206

Part Number: TPS51206

Hi Team,

My customer need to asses abnormal conditions when they use new device.

Do you have Pin FMEA document of TPS51206?

It will pretty helpful to fill their abnormal condition list spread sheet.

Takashi Onawa

  • Hi Onawa,

    Thanks for making a contact.

Here I have attached Pin FMEA document.

Pin Number Name Class Short to Next Pin Open Pin Pin to VDD Power Supply
    (3.3V or 5V)
    Pin to Ground
1 VDDQSNS Analog Input (1-2) In typical DDR application, VDDQSNS is connected to VLDOIN.  Normal operation.  If VDDQSNS is open and the pin voltage is low, VTT voltage will be close to 0V.  If noise is coupled to VDDQSNS pin and cause a volage on the pin, VTT voltage will be a random voltage between 0V and VLDOIN voltage.  If VDDQSNS is shorted to 3.3V, VTT voltage will be close to VLDOIN voltage (VDDQ voltage). If the pin is shorted to 5V, the pin may be damaged.   VDDQSNS is shorted to ground, VTT voltage will be close to 0V.
2 VLDOIN Power Input (2-3) VLDOIN and VTT are shorted. VTT voltage will be pulled up to VLDOIN voltage.  VLDOIN is open. VTT voltage is 0V. If VLDOIN pin is shorted to 3.3V, VTT voltage will be half of VLDOIN voltage. If VLODIN pin is shorted to 5V, the pin may be damaged.  VLDOIN is shorted to ground. VTT voltage is 0V.
3 VTT Power Output (3-4) VTT is shorted to PGND. VTT voltage will be 0V.  VTT pin is open. VTT voltage at DDR side is 0V. If VTT pin is shorted to 3.3V, VTT voltage will be 3.3V. If VTT pin is shorted to 5V, the pin may be damaged.  VTT is shorted to ground, VTT voltage will be 0V.
4 PGND Power Ground (4-5) PGND  and VTTSNS are shorted, VTT voltage will be close to VLDOIN voltage.  PGND pin is open, VTT voltage will not be regulated correctly.  PGND is shorted to VDD power supply, the part will be off. OC may happens on VDD power supply.  PGND is shorted to ground, normal operation.
5 VTTSNS Analog Input (5-6) NA VTTSNS pin is open, VTT voltage will not be regulated correctly. If noise is coupled to VTTSNS pin, the VTT voltage could be a random voltage between 0V and VDDQ voltage If VTTSNS pin is shorted 3.3V, VTT voltage will be close to 0V. If VTTSNS pin is shorted to 5V, the pin may be damaged.  VTTSNS pin is shorted to ground, VTT voltage will be close to VLDOIN voltage.
6 VTTREF Analog Output (6-7) VTTREF and S3 are shorted, the VTTREF voltage will be equal to S3 pin voltage. If S3 voltage is high, VTT voltage will be close to VLDOIN voltage. If S3 voltage is low, VTT is off.  VTTREF pin is open, the VTTREF voltage at DDR side is 0V. VTTREF pin voltage and VTT voltage may not stable.  If VTTREF pin is shorted to 3.3V, VTT voltage will be close to VLDOIN voltage. If VTTREF pin is shorted to 5V, the pin may be damaged.   VTTREF pin is shorted to ground, VTT voltage will be 0V.
7 S3 Analog Input (7-8) S3 pin is shorted to GND pin. VTT voltage is off.  S3 is open, in normal case S3 is low and VTT is off. If noise is coupled to S3 pin, VTT could be either on or off.   S3 is pulled high externally, VTT is on.  S3 is shorted to ground, VTT is off.
8 GND Signal Ground (8-9) GND pin and S5 pin are shorted. VTTREF is off, VTT voltage will be close to 0V.  GND pin is open, the part does not work correctly.  VTT and VTTREF will not be regulated.  GND pin is shorted to VDD power supply, the part will be off. OC may happen on VDD power supply. GND pin is shorted to ground, normal operation.
9 S5 Analog Input (9-10) S5 pin is shorted to VDD pin. VTTREF is always on. VTT voltage is decided by S3 pin.  S5 pin is open. In normal case, S5 voltage is low and VTTREF is off. If noise is coupled to S5 pin, VTTREF could be either on or off.  S5 pin is pulled high externally, VTTREF is always on. VTT voltage is decided by S3 pin.  S5 is shorted to ground, VTTREF is always off, VTT voltage is 0V.
10 VDD Analog Input (10-1) NA VDD pin is open, the part is off.  VDD pin is shorted to VDD power supply, normal operation.  VDD pin is shorted to ground, the part is off.

    Best,
