TPS552882EVM-400KHZ: Output Voltage Setting

TPS552882 doesn't have I2C configuration function. You just need to configure the feedback resistors correctly then you can get 3.3V output voltage.

As per the EVM schematic it does have the I2C configurations. See attached schematic below.

What would be the reference voltage in case of using external feedback resistors?

I am sorry but I didn't realize that it is a different part. By the way, the EVK part# is TPS55288EVM-045.

If you use TPS55288EVM-045, you need to use I2C to enable the device switching.

Maybe you can buy some TPS552882 devices and replace the IC yourself.

Also, it would be really helpful if you can highlight the major difference between TPS552882 and TPS55288?

We also have EV2400 PC Interface board available with us. Can we use that to get the access of GUI??

I'm not sure if EV2400 PC interface board works with TPS55288 GUI and I don't have such experience. The TPS55288 GUI default interface board is USB2ANY. Do you have it?

Can't we configure output voltage without I2C by using external resistors?

You need to configure the I2C MODE register (address 06h) OE bit to 1 to enable the output, otherwise the device doesn't switch.

We were able to get the output voltage by setting the OE bit. We connected the I2C to our onbaord MCU.

My question is do we need to write this bit to 1 each and every time when we do power cycle?

As you mentioned earlier, we procured TPS552882 IC and replaced it on TPS552882EVM-400KHZ.

We set the output voltage to be 3.33V.

But we are observing 3.66V in output and hearing humming noise from inductor.

Can you please help me out about what other settings need to change in order to make TPS552882 work on TPS55288 EVM??

Have you set the working mode to forced PWM mode? 

In TPS55288 GUI, firstly select the INTERANL mode, then select Forced PWM mode. The humming noise should disappear.

We don't access to GUI as we do not have USB2ANY.

Can you tell us any changes which needs to be done on EVK itself?
