BQ25155: Estimating battery charge percentage

Hello,

We are using BQ25155 to manage a 125mAh LiPo battery with 5V from USB for charging. We could get the ADC readings through I2C, however, one big point I noticed is that the value is different when the charger is connected and not. Can someone please advise how we could estimate the battery charge percentage usingBQ25155BQ25155 features?

Hi Dushyantha,

The battery voltage will move when the battery is being charged. How much it moves it depends on the charge current and the ESR of the battery, as well as any additional resistance between the charger and the battery cell. For accurate readings, is better to perform measurements when the device is not charging. Another alternative will be to reduce the charging current before taking a measurement.
