Hi team,

Can you have a look at the following customer issue please? Is there a MOSFET that you recommend to use with BQ27742-G1 instead of uPA2375T1P or CSD87501L?

We currently have a problem that a MOSFET has failed in a prototype during tests at our customer (CSD87501L).

Currently, the prototype is still on its way back from the customer to us and the assumption is that the charge FET has failed and there is an internal short circuit.

As a possible cause, it is currently suspected that the gate-source voltage may not be sufficient for this MOSFET and that this may have resulted in excessive losses at the MOSFET, which then destroyed it. In order to eliminate this, we are currently looking for alternatives for the MOSFET. The uPA2375T1P used on the Evaluation Borad is unfortunately now EOL and therefore dropped out, on the other hand we are currently looking at the CSD83325L which has a lower threshold voltage but also a lower value for the maximum peak current, which in turn could lead to problems with the short circuit shutdown. Maybe you can suggest other MOSFETs which are already successfully used with the BQ27742. In the application, the circuit would be used with two 18650 Li-Ion batteries connected in parallel with a voltage range of 2.5V ... 4.2V.
