TPS2363: Power up sequence consult for UVLO condition

Hi Team,

Customer is consulting the UVLO triggering requirements for 3V3 and 12V, does this UVLO trigger is related with power up sequence between 3V3/12V and ONA/B? If there are other requirements for UVLO trigger like voltage slew rate, pls also tell us here. Thanks.

Hi Stanley,

Regarding the power up sequence, first AUXINA/B should be powered and then power to 12 V and 3.3 V slots. In order to power up AUXINA/B, voltage at AUXINA/B pin should be more than its UVLO threshold (2.9 V) and AUXENA/B is high. To turn on 12 V and 3.3 V slots, voltages at SH12A/B and SH33A/B should be more than their respective UVLO thresholds (9 V and 2.5 V respectively) and ONA/B is high. Triggering UVLO for a particular slot (12 V, 3.3 V, or AUX) depends on its individual UVLO threshold. However, UVLO at AUXINA/B causes a power on reset.

Thanks for your very detailed explanations. In my understanding, UVLO functions for 12V/3.3V slots will not be opened until ONA/B is high, right?

Hi Stanley,

Logically you're correct. This active high ONA/B signal turns on the main slot voltages. As long as the slots are not turned on, there is no question of UVLO.
