TPS65132: Output issue of OUTP

Part Number: TPS65132

Hello Expert,

Our customer is evaluating TPS65132AYFFR on their B'D.

There is output issue of OUTP after setting through I2C no matter what load is or not.

Below is detail symptom.

When there is no I2C communication, preprogrammed output is OK.

When output voltage setting was changed through I2C, OUTP is always 4.22V no matter what value is set.

But, OUTN is always OK.

This same symptom has occurred on another B'D.

Why is the root cause about this issue?

Could you please detail explain and give me resolution?

Here is their schematic.

I2C signal is connected with pullup resistor 2.2kohm through 3.3V.

Best regards,

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

This is very strange behavior that you are able to program the negative voltage but the positive voltage. Schematically, the design looks ok so the only reason I can think of is some register programming issue. Can you please send me the complete I2C communication log? I will review to see if I can spot some issue with it.

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat
