CSD25501F3: Model Rc is not present for positive gate voltage

Part Number: CSD25501F3

The CSD25501F3 model has no series resistance for gate > source voltage (Zener forward biased)

Is there a secondary Gate to source diode in the FET (block diagram incorrect) or is the model incorrect?

  • Hi Ron,

Thanks for the inquiry. I think I see your point. As IG1 increases and the ESD diode junction becomes forward biased, VGS should continue to rise due to the voltage drop across the clamp resistor. Instead, VGS is clamped at about 0.76V. I didn't create these models and will have to dig into it some more to get a better understanding. I pulled up the model playbacks which compare the characterization data collected during product development to the model results. The model very closely matches the data in the negative direction but there is no sweep in the positive direction either in the data or the model like you've done here. Let me do a little more digging and I'll get back to you shortly. I'm going to close this e2e thread and we can handle this via regular email.

    Thanks,
