Hello expert,

My customer is looking for solution to support 13.5VDC -> 12VDC/200A. As I know we can use LM5143 to implement multi-phase solution. May I know if LM5143 could support 2400W output application? If no, do we have other solution could support it? If yes, do we have higher output power reference design could share with customer? Thanks a lot!

Hi Ann,

Take a look at the LM5143-Q1 quickstart calculator for more guidance.

Note that the dropout performance depends on toff-min spec and switching frequency. Choosing a low Fsw like 200kHz should make this design feasible. You will likely need 4 phases for 200A (depending on Vin-max etc.).

Thanks for your feedback. Per checked with application note, it is 5Vout/4-ph application. May I know if there is any other concern on 12Vout application besides min toff? Thanks a lot!!

Hi Ann,

12Vout shouldn't be a problem. Just watch out for thermals at the high current level. I recommend filling out the LM5143 quickstart calculator and send to me for review.
