TPS62903: Is there a model for this device?

Hello,

I was trying to simulate the TPS62903 and neither WEBENCH or PSPICE-for-TI have models available. Are there other devices in the family that have the same behavior that I could use as a model? I know the device is new, is there a model that should be releasing soon?

Hello John,

I would recommend using the TPS629210-Q1, it has similar functionality but is rated for 1A instead of 3A. The model is currently in development and hopefully will be released in the near future.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the super quick response. By "similar functionality" would you expect the devices to perform similarly in DC regulation and load transient simulations? Those are the simulations I am interested in doing.

Just to piggyback off of this, I'm trying to simulate TPS562211 and I'm having a similar issue, and need a similar device to model if possible. This is also a new device that doesn't have a released model

John,

Both of these devices use the same DCS-Control topology. There are slight differences in current limits and RDSon etc. (shown in datasheet), but the fundamental control loop should be comparable to TPS6290x.

For now I think this is probably the best alternative until the TPS6290x model is released.

Marco,

I would take a look at TPS562202, It doesn't have the ability to use softstart or mode selection, but I would expect it to behave similar to TPS562211.
