you connect the internal error amplifier as a voltage follower and connect the current sensing signal in the normal way, then you can control the current at which the PWM comparator trips by applying a fixed voltage to the EA+ pin as shown here. VC should be in the range 0.85V to 2.8V giving control of the duty cycle from 0% to Dmax, although operation between 0V and 5V won’t damage the controller.
