Hello,

I am actually using the LP5860 EVM and I try to configure it with a Nucleo L412-RB-P card from ST Microelectronics wich integrate the STM32 chip. I did the register configuration on STM cube IDE using the register map on the LP586x GUI tool. Do you have any code wich runs with the STM32 and a schematic wich shows us how can we connect the different pins from the LP5860 EVM board to the Nucleo 412-RB-P.

Hi Abu,

We don't have any code or schematic compatible with STM32 chip.

If you use MSP432 microcontroller, the sample code is available from this LINK

Can the STM32 chip drive the LP5860 or I have to use another MCU chip?

Technically Yes, but I recommend TI MCU to avoid any potential compatibility problems.

Hi Aaron,

The problem is that I use exclusively STM32 chip and I can't change the MCU. Can you please send me a schematic which shows us the connexion between the MSP and the LP5860 EVM board? I think I didn't do a correct connexion between my MCU dev board and the LP5860 EVM board, I tried to do the power and the I2C connexion between the two cards but I didn't see any signal on SDA and CLK pins from the LP5860 EVM board.

Hi Aaron,

I don't understand well the VSYNC and the VIO_EN pin, in the datasheet the schematic shows us that we have to connect them to an MCU if we want to drive the LP5860 driver with an external MCU. I don't know with what kind of pin I have to connect them with my external MCU.

Hi Abu,

For VIO_EN pin, it is a 1.65V~5.5V power supply which connects to VIO or GPIO

For VSYNC pin, it is connected to a PWM GPIO (if left NC, LP5860EVM can still work under Mode #1)
