TPS92691-Q1: RIS concern

Part Number: TPS92691-Q1

Hi Bu team,

I have a question from customer during the schematic design.

Customer refer to below equation from datasheet. The RIS value they calculated is about 150mohm. But they don't have such value resistor right now. If they just use about 68mohm RIS in this design, does it have some concerns? Which features will be influenced if decrease the RIS value?

Thanks

  • Hello,

The TP992691 is an internally slope compensation so by changing Ris to a lower value you will have more slope compensation and not optimized in term of slope compensation.  However, the loop would still be stable and should work fine.  You will have to verify the loop stability with load and actual hardware anyway.

    Thanks Tuan
