BQ21061: Battery charger

Part Number: BQ21061

About TI battery charger BQ21061YFPR, I have the following questions during product validation. Kindly advise it. Thanks.

1、REF the datasheet “2b00 = PMID powered from BAT or VIN if present”, does it means:

if Vin present, the PMID powered from Vin, if Vin absent, the PMID powered from BAT.

2、After "Charge Done",what is the value of the Quiescent Current from Battery  in Active Mode(@ Vin=5V,LDO Enabled)?

  • Hi Daniel,

    1) Yes you are correct. With a setting of 2b00 when Vin is present it will power PMID, otherwise the BAT will provide power to PMID.

    2) Can you please clarify what you mean by Active Mode? The device can only be in Active battery mode when there is no input source present. Are you asking for the quiescent current from the battery when it is in a standby state after charge termination, but the LDO and PMID are still being powered by your 5V Vin?

    Regards,

    Garrett

  • Hi Garrett,

For question-2, we want to know the quiescent current from the battery when it is in a standby state after the charge done( the LDO and PMID are still being powered by 5V Vin)?

  • Hi Daniel,

We have conducted some testing, and you can expect the quiescent current from the battery in a standby state after charge termination to be a typical value of 15 uA.

    Regards.
