TLV705: Unable to identify the dot mark for pin numbering identification

Hi Experts,

I have this client who is having hard time identifying the pin numbering of our small LDO device, TLV70518YFMT.

At first, I am thinking that by looking at the surface of this device, showing a dot mark, would help him for the pin1 identification, as what it's datasheet stated.

Hence, he reported that the component has a very shiny on top surface that no one can see any marks.

Although by looking at their reel positioning, pin1 will always be at first quadrant from datasheet. But it would be beneficial if we can still find out their orientation once placed for application.

Should the mark showing pin1 be there? Then why it so shiny that even the microscope can't find which? Are there any ways to identify pin1?

Hoping for your guidance on this.

Thank you.

Regards,

Archie A.
