BQ34110: How do I specify the value of my Rsense resistor?

Hi there,

How do I specify the value of the Rsense resistor for current sensing? Is this value written to a register? If the value is not written anywhere, how does the part know the absolute current?

This is set in the Calibration:Data:CC Gain data flash register.

Thank you for getting back with me. If I understand you correctly, I have to run a current calibration of a known current like 1A and then obtain and calculate the values for CC gain and CC delta.

Hi Boris,

Yes, you can run a current calibration for the best accuracy. Or you can calculate the approximate value for this register. In BQStudio, I think you can enter this value as a resistance value in the Data Memory window since BQStudio automatically calculates the register value.
