LM7480-Q1: Unencrypted pspice model

Hello team,

My customer is planning to build 400V-12V bi-directional DC/DC converter.

I promoted LM7480-Q1 cause I think it's suitable for bi-directional circuit breaker application while driving back-to-back FETs.

In past project, they have used LM5060-Q1 in same application. But I believe it would be better to propose recently released device.

The power path can goes both direction (400V -> 12V, 12V -> 400V) with LM7480-Q1, right?

For simulation test, customer need unencrypted pspice model.

Could you please support that? Thanks.

Hi Oliver,

LM7480-Q1 cannot support voltages greater than 65V. Also, this device is an ideal diode controller which allows current in the forward direction and blocks current in the reverse direction. This device cannot be used for bi-directional current flow.

Thanks for your reply.

This device will be located at 12V battery side. 65V is not an issue.

For bi-directional circuit breaker, LM5060-Q1 is the only option we can offer?

Any recommendation for other device?

Can you share the schematics of LM5060-Q1 in previous generation projects so that I can clearly understand what customer is trying to achieve with this device
