BQ24061: No Battery LED STAT2 blink

Part Number: BQ24061

Hi

My customer is using BQ24061.

No battery condition, LED is not off, so 2.2M resistor inserted between Vout and GND as shown in the circuit.

No battery status, LED off.

However, removing the battery, as shown in the video, will turn off after blinking Stat2 for about 1 to 2 seconds.

The resister is the same when changed to 2M or less. (10K, 100K, 500K, 1M)

I don't want to do blink.

  • Hello Cho,

Let me look into this you can expect to hear back by end of the week.

    Thanks,

    Nick

  • Hi Cho,

In my testing with the EVM I only see the /PG LED staying on in no battery condition (with and without a 1Mohm res between OUT and GND). You may try replacing the 10uF with a 1uF like the EVM: www.ti.com/.../sluu235.pdf

Which LED is staying on in this case? Can you provide waveforms showing this behavior?

Some flashing of the LEDs during startup is normal as the device transitions from different states, from the table 3 in the datasheet: Pulse loading on the OUT pin may cause the IC to cycle between Done and charging states (LEDs Flashing)

    Best regards,

    Nick
