What is the recommended total output value cap (Cout) for TPS62865 device?

Hello Suliman,

You can see in Table 9-3 in TPS62865 datasheet, the recommended Output Filter combinations.

Also, the recommended typical output capacitor value is 30uF of effective capacitance.

Do you have any specific concern here ?

Hi Dorian,

In our design we have FPGA need 0.9V, current ~2A, decoupling requirement on this rail is ~400uF

According to table 9-3 I see the maximum output capacitance is 150uF, and this is my concern!

Do you have alternate part can meet FPGA decoupling requirements?

Hello Suliman,

You may not need to get up to 400uF.

Can you have a look at the following training video ?

If this is a strict requirement for you, you can try to stretch this maximum 150uF output cap using the TPS62867EVM.

The evaluation on TPS62867EVM can give you a hint if you can meet your AC/DC requirement for a 0.9V rail at 2A.
