TPS40170-Q1: Junction Temperature

Part Number: TPS40170-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer has the following question:

We have a question about the information in the data sheet. It is about the maximum temperature that is specified for the TPS40170-Q1 as Ambient Temperature TA with +125°C. However, all figures refer to the Junction Temperature which ends at +125°C for each graph. The junction temperature should always be higher than the ambient temperature, since the case and the connection always cause heat dissipation. Why does the temperature in the graphs end at +125°C junction? Somehow the data is contradictory from our point of view.

Thanks

Jan
