BQ76942: Command execution time

Part Number: BQ76942

Hi Champs,

Two quick questions:

1. For command-only subcommands, after writting command to 0X3E and 0X3F(do not writte checksum or length), do we still have to read back 0X3E and 0X3F until it reads back the command instead of 0XFF?

2. Is there a guidance of a brief command execution time? We found the 0X009E and 0X009F execution time(duration between writting command and reading back) is as long as 100ms, does it make sense to you?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

I recently updated the BQ769x2 Software Development guide with more information on the timing. For command-only subcommands, reading back 0x3E/0x3F is not recommended. This method is only recommended for subcommands that read data. For almost all subcommands, 2ms is a good recommended wait time.

    Best regards,

    Matt
