LM5032EVAL: Connecting external controller like TMS320f28379d to LM5032EVAL

Part Number: LM5032EVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28379D, , LM5032

I want to use solar input along with an MPPT programmed externally using  TMS320f28379d  and need to connect to LM5032EVAL.

is it possible? if so how to avoid LM5032 in the LM5032EVAL.kindly suggest me.

  • Kameswarna,

Sounds like you are designing a digitally controlled solar inverter? You are considering using the LM5032EVAL EVM and want to know if it's possible? You are also asking how to use the LM5032EVAL EVM but also how to "avoid LM5032" - Can you please clarify what exactly you are asking here? I think t helps to ask in terms such as input, output voltage, current, power, isolation requirements.

  • Hi Steve, I want to use solar input from the panel as input and I want to implement a custom MPPT code to track maximum power. further, I want to use interleaved boost converter as LM5032 EVM. but, the EVM comes with the onboard controller. is it possible to disable the onboard controller and to use external launchpads?

  • Kameswarna,

I guess I don't fully understand you question about "disabling the onboard controller and using external launchpads?" Do you mean you want to use the power stage portion of the EVM without the use of the controller? If so, I suppose this would be possible with careful examination of the number of kluged wires, cuts and how to interface to the DSP? My other thought is that you might be asking about disabling the PWM oscillator and applying a SYNC signal from the TMS320? If true, please follow the SYNC guidance given in the LM5032 data sheet. If you need support for the LM5032 please be a s specific as possible with your inquiries. If you need support for the TMS320, please enter a new thread so your inquiry gets routed to the correct forum:
