Hi expert,

If BQ79616-Q1 and BQ79600-Q1 placed nearly in same PCB, can we use capacitor isolation without ESD diode like two nearby 79616 isolation in the same PCB?
Do you have any suggestions from ESD performance regarding to it's better or not if remove below ESD capacitor on the battery cell input?

Hello Ethan,

1. If the communication lines (COMHP, COMHN, COMLP and COMLN) on the board are not subject to ESD testing then yes you can omit the ESD protection diode on the PCB between the two devices.

2. This depends on the system / application and the conditions / severity of the ESD event. It is better to not remove the capacitors but it is also possible to remove these and pass the ESD test under certain conditions.

At this moment we recommend the following three transformers: HMU1228NL, HM2147NL, SM91502AL.

Hi Viktor,

My customer has simply measured WE 7494100 transformer. It can work for daisy chain communication. So just want to confirm with you, is there any concerns if we do not use our recommend transformer.

BTW, do you have BQ79718-Q1 datasheet can share to customer? Please share to me if available.

Yes they can use this transformer as long as they don't see any issues in the communication.
