TPS6594-Q1: TPS65941213 VIO/VCCA_3V3 power up sequence

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, TDA4VM, , DRA829V

Refer to power up sequence diagram of DRA829_TDA4VM_3Ph_Dual_Leo2.0_PDN-0C_v0.17.pdf,

1.This document shown VCCA_3V3(Pin 4) connected with VIO_IN(Pin 48) and power up at the same time.

2. I got the other kinds of description below  from the document of Dual TPS6594-Q1 PMIC User Guide for Jacinto 7 DRA829
and TDA4VM Automotive PDN-0B.

The VCCA voltage must be the first voltage applied to the PMIC devices. VIO_IN of the PMICs must not
be supplied before VCCA. A load switch supplies VIO_IN in this PDN.

3. The third kinds of description below for User's Guide for Powering DRA829V and TDA4VM with the
TPS6594-Q1 PMICs:

The VCCA voltage must be the first voltage applied to the PMIC devices, so VIO_IN of the PMICs must be
supplied after VCCA.

In summary, I feel power up sequence of VCCA_3V3(Pin 4) and VIO_IN(Pin 48)  is very important, I am confused,

which description is reasonable for TPS65941213+TPS6594111 ?

  • Hello,

The requirement to supply VCCA before VIO came from the previous family of devices and is not required for the TPS6594-Q1 family.  We are working to update our documentation accordingly.  Thank you for you patience.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Chris
