LP8733:LP873364 for AM64xx

Part Number: LP8733
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS745

Hi Support Team,

I found the following information on Powering the AM64xx with the LP8733xx PMIC at the following site
www.tij.co.jp/.../slvaes0.pdf

"A second TPS745 discrete LDO is enabled by LP873364 LDO0 to supply the DDR4 VPP rail."

LP8733xx datasheet only lists LP873347 and LP873345, when will the LP873364 be released?
And what is the difference between LP873345 used in the SK-AM64 and LP873364 ?

Is it possible for my customer to use the LP873345 as well as the AM64SK
when developing his prototype boards?

Best regards,
Kanae

  • Hello Kanae,

I have assigned this thread to expert on the AM64x power.

LP873364 is planned to be released in Q4 this year, so it is not yet in the datasheet. But samples are available now.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Tomi Koskela

  • Hi Tomi,

    Thank you for your reply.
I understand that the LP873364 will be released in 4Q/21.

I am waiting for the answer from the expert on the AM64x power
about the difference between LP873345 used in SK-AM64 and LP873364 .

Also, should my customer not use the LP873345 as well as the AM64SK
when making prototype boards, or should he arrange for samples of
    the LP873364 to be available?

    Best regards,
    Kanae

  • Hello Kanae,

LP873345 is not recommended for new designs. This device recommendation is being replaced by LP873364, which was tested extensively in the lab with the AM64x GP EVM, to ensure it can supply the necessary power and sequencing needs for the AM64 processor. LP873345 LDO0 = 0.9V, which is too high to provide the required 0.85V for VDDR_CORE. LP873364 LDO0 = 1.8V, which is high enough to be used for any needed 1.8V rail, but also enable a discrete LDO that can now provide the required 0.85V.

    Thanks,
