LP87524J-Q1: PMIC alternatives for IWR6843AOP

Part Number: LP87524J-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843AOP, , AWR1843, IWR6843

Hi,

Due to the lack of stock of the LP87524JRNFRQ1 and other alternatives mentioned in the forum, I would like to ask for other options to power the IWR6843AOP.

How crucial is it to use the LP87524JRNFRQ1 PMIC instead of 4 different buck converters? What are the main requirements/features the power stage must have?

Thanks,

Jose

  • Hello Jose,

For proto builds we can possibly provide samples if needed for the LP87524J-Q1.

Samples need to be requested through our field sales team.

Critical things for the power solution is of course voltages/currents, but also sequencing and noise performance of the outputs. LP87524J is configured specifically for radar power and has low noise on the outputs.

    Thanks.

  • Thank you Tomi for your answer,

I could see on both AWR1843 and IWR4863 datasheets:

    - They share the same values of  Maximum Current Ratings at Power Terminals. Table 5.6 (AWR1843) and Table 8.3 (IWR6843)

    - They share the same values of Input Supply Ripple requirements. Table 5 and Table 8.2.

Can I then assume that a PMIC solution for the AWR1843 would work on the IWR6843 as well?

    Thanks,

    Jose

  • Hello Jose,

LP87524J-Q1 is used to power IWR6843 in the EVM: https://www.ti.com/tool/IWR6843AOPEVM

It does fulfill the requirements for IWM6843.

    Thanks.
