BQ24296M: BQ24296M thermal issue during charge

The customer design with BQ24296M. In the charging state, the chip heats up very seriously, and the surface temperature reaches 53°.

The internal temperature rises to 40° due to the handheld device. Is this temperature normal?

3. The thermal performance is dependent on the PCB layout design (power density, # of layers etc, PCB material (e.g. oz of copper), etc.
