TPS62130: TPS62130

Part Number: TPS62130

Hi, support team

I am designing with tps62130.
It is designed based on TI EVM and works normally.
However, at some point, the 3.3V output changes to the 5V output.
Could this be the case?

Thank you in advance.

  • Since the voltage was incorrectly output as 5V, it continues to come out as 5V.
This is the setting that should originally come out as 3.3V.
It seems that the FB value of the circuit has changed compared to the previous value.
In this case, is this power chip damaged inside?

  • The EVM should output 3.3V as is without any component changes. Was there any change made to any components on this EVM? Please ensure the feedback resistors are correctly sized if you made any changes to the EVM. The FB pin should read close to 0.8V. You can always try another new TPS62130 IC to see if that helps resolve the issue.

    Thanks,

    Amod

  • Thanks for your reply.
Attached here is the schematic I designed.
    The input is DC12V.
One thing I want to point out is that this design gave me a normal 3.3V output for a while, and it worked fine, but at some point when I applied power to the board, I got 5V.
The voltage level on the FB line is 0.850V.
The FB voltage level of other normal boards is 0.800V.
What does this voltage level difference have to do with it?
    thank you.

  • Are you using your own board or modifying an EVM to match the schematic you attached? The schematic looks fine. It is not clear what might have happened unless we had waveforms at the point of failure. You can try a A-B-A swap to confirm if the failure follows the IC and also check these other troubleshooting tips

    Thanks,
