BQ40Z50-R1: Current sensing sample rate and current averaging filter time constant/averaging duration

The Max Avg Discharge Current is just the lifetime data during any discharge cycle the max value that was every recorded of the Avg Discharge Current.

The V/I/P filter is a locked parameter, the default value is designed for the gauge to work optimally since the Avg Current is used in other simulations.

The actual ADC is a delta-sigma type, so it is taking samples almost continuously. This architecture is good for coulomb counting because many samples are taken during the conversion period.

I understand this, what I should have said is that I want to know how the Average Discharge Current is calculated. I would like to use the maximum average discharge current for analysis, but without the details of how the averaging is performed the value is essentially useless.

If the V/I/P filter setting is locked then why is a table of example values given?, and which of these (if any) is it locked at? Can give the effective time constant at which this filter is set?
