TPS566231: PGND absmax rating

Hello Expert,

I have question for the datasheet description.
As far as my understanding, This device only has PGND as reference GND pin.
But datasheet has Absmax rating on PGND pin as +-0.3V.

Then, would you tell me What point is reference for absmax rating of PGND?
Also, What point is reference for other pin's rating?

Hi Ken,

The reference point of abs PGND is system GND (board GND).

The reference point of other pins is PGND.

Thank you for your support.

This is just confirmation, does System GND meant Vin side GND terminal pin?
I'd like to know about definite measurement point.

Also, would you tell me what point I should refer when I measure actual customer's board as system GND?

Hi Kazuki,

Sorry I need to correct my previous answer.

As checked with team, the reference point of abs PGND is internal GND on die, you couldn't measure it actually.

Sorry but I little confused.
I'd like to confirm for my understanding.
My understanding for your answer is as below.
AbsMax PGND: It is the voltage between GND on die internally IC and PGND pin on outside of package.
AbsMax other pins : it is the voltage between PGND pin and other rated pins

Is this understanding correct?

Hi Kazuki-san,

Yes, your understanding is correct. You can ignore this PGND abs max rating for bench test since it's not for the pin differential voltage and couldn't be measured on bench. We just reserved this specs as reference and it's achieved by device itself. You can ignore it for application use.
