Dear TI expert,

In my application, I need to charge a LiFePO4 battery(4S(12.8Volt),20Ah Battery.

1)Selected BQ25672IC as battery charger

2)Selected BQ40z50-R2 as Battery Gauge and protection purpose.

In my application I used Master as Beagle bone Black, Which needs to control the slaves like BQ25672 and BQ40Z50. Is it possible to use BQ40Z50 as a slave device with Beagle bone black Master.Then what is the slave address of BQ40z50.

Hi Muhammed Rafi C K,

The default BQ40Z50 address is 0x16. Please note that this device uses SMBus and not I2C so there will be communication protocol differences.

Yes, the BQ40Z50 gauge is a slave device.
