UCD3138PFCEVM-026: UCD3138PFCEVM-026

Part Number: UCD3138PFCEVM-026
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138CC64EVM-030,

Hello expert
if I only use the control board of UCD3138CC64EVM-030 instead of the evaluation version of UCD3138PFCEVM-026, the source program is single-phase PFC, and I want to test the PWM waveform output from the DPWM1B port, except for AD-02, AD-03, AD-07, AD- 08. The EADC-P0 port is used as a sampling port for output voltage, inductor current, and input voltage, and FAULT-1 is connected to AGND. What other ports on the control board need to be triggered by external signals? And how to change the single-phase PFC function in the source program, what needs to be changed in the program?
Looking forward to your reply, thank you very much! !

  • Hello,

You may have issues to test PFC firmware on the control card when the control card is not connected to the main power board. To study the PFC code on the control card, you may disable all faults including input voltage, output voltage faults. Then you can put a fixed value for the DAC of current loop. The voltage loop is calculated by ADC and firmware.

We haven't done the test purely on the separate control card, and we don't have example code to do this test.

    Regards,

    Sean

  • Hello expert
    thank you for your reply.
Excuse me, under normal circumstances, buy UCD3138PFCEVM-026 evaluation board, directly power on the main power, do not need to test the program settings on the control board is normal? So as not to make mistakes when powering on and damage the main circuit board.

  • I've replied to your question with a firmware alternative on your other post with the same question.  To bring it up with the board, you need to be careful as with all power supplies - have a small load and a current limit on the input to protect the system, and bring it  up gradually.  You can set the vout target to a much lower value as well.
