TPS746-Q1: Cout selection

Hi experts,

TPS746-Q1 datasheet recommends 1-220uF for Cout, is it a value before or after DC derated? From my understanding, we limited the Cout for loop stability. But could you please help to explain how you determine 220uF as the maxim value? What will happen if customer add more than 220uF output capacitance? Thank you.

    Hi Arie,

    The maximum Cout spec is before derating. Cout is often limited for loop stability. It is possible that the TPS746-Q1 will be stable with larger Cout, but that is something the customer would need to test.
