TPS546B24A: TPS546x and TPS65400 schematics review

Part Number: TPS546B24A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65400,

Hello

Can you review the schematics of TPS546x and TPS65400 for me?

P03_POWER_SUPPLY.pdf

  • Hi Zhao,

Our US team will review it then reply you soon.

  •

What design tool was used to develop the 4 TPS546B24A designs?

Have you filled out a the schematic review check-list?  https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slurb01

All of the designs are listing compensation coming from default NVM.  Are you planning to program this prior to first power-up, or are you expecting the default NVM value to be stable?  If you are programming it, please enter the desired programming values into the design check list.

Why does the design use the same 6-pin header with 3 enable options?  Is this an evaluation board that needs different enable options?

I will ask someone from the TPS65400 team to review those 8 outputs.

    Reply:Yes,need different enabling options

At the same time, please help to check whether the output inductance and capacitance are correct,Tks

  • Hi, SW

    I have reviewed the schematic.

The Vin for TPS65400 is 12V, right?

If yes, suggest lower down the frequency to 500kHz which is benefit for efficiency.

    So suggest changing R142=R70=374kohm.

    Others looks good.

  • Hi Zhao Ma,

Our PCBA has come out and found that it is unstable for no load and max loads. Is this related to the switching frequency?Or do you have debug suggestions?

  • Hi, SW

Could you send me some waveforms?

I think it is related with Fsw.

Yes, suggest reduce the Fsw, then test again.
