BQ25504: Why SYSTEM should be connected to VSTOR

Hi team,

My customer wants to know why the system load should be connected to VSTOR as Typical applications. Is that affect an internal PMOS off when startup and shutdown?

Additionally, what problem and benefit are expected when the system load connected to VBAT directly?

Hi Tatsumi-san,

The internal PFET between VBAT and VSTOR is intended to provide undervoltage protection so that a system load cannot overdischarge the battery. If the battery pack already has overdischarge protection, then VSTOR can be shorted to VBAT.
